Zack Schnepf’s Fine Art Landscapes   Leave a comment

Zack Schnepf is a fine art landscape photographer from Portland, Oregon. He likes to walk, to find everyday scenery. He believed that everyone is a living artist who can create beauty. In fact, sometimes beautiful landscape is around us, but we do not care, because we are used to turning a blind eye. But the best time on the road, out of our own familiar world, perhaps you will see the highlights of life. Go for a walk, not to escape, to find, is a return.

While these stunning images look like still shots, they’re actually the handiwork of “amateur” French photographer David Keochkerian. David’s style of infrared photography is achieved by using a special camera or lens filter to block out all light but the infrared waves. The result is another-worldly effect where the color is strange and piercing and the quality is celestial and dreamlike. By taking advantage of nature’s inherent beauty; from trees in bloom to a pond’s reflective properties, vivid tones and striking contrasts come together to produce the sort of magical surrealism that movies are made of. But as any behind-the-scenes creative talent knows, these shots required way more than the wave of a wand to materialize. Starting off with a D70 infrared and an external infrared filter and ultimately moving to a 590 nm internal filter for the D700; the photographer captures the images displayed below and perfect them in post-production.

Tips for those inclined to give infrared photography a spin; lush green foliage and the sunny skies of spring and summer are I feel ideal conditions for infrared photography; a tripod and remote is a must due to extended exposure times; shoot RAW images and adjust the white balance to your preference in post-production. Now, let’s take a peek at David Keochkerian’s compositions for inspiration, his treatments and styles.

Heaven Land Switzerland

In 1943, with reference to Europe’s small nations, including Switzerland, Hitler stated that "all the rubbish of small nations still existing in Europe must be liquidated as fast as possible…" M. Hitler tried to get out of the dilemma into which his policies have driven him by savagely attacking Poland and by buying the alliance of Bolshevik Russia at an exorbitant price. In short, M. Hitler, while affirming his desire to see the end of hostilities, continues to demand that the world bow before the fait accompli of the annihilation of Poland. He continues to show his determination to exclude all the other powers from the East, where Germany, allied with Soviet Russia, wishes to exercise absolute rule. He calls for the end of hostilities and suggests a conference. But he begins by advancing the principle that Germany must obtain not only her old colonies, but colonies commensurable to the interests and the greatness of the Reich. Such impudence leaves one stunned, and we ask ourselves how he can dare to make such grandiose claims in the face of powers which have put him in such a critical position; for the history reveals clearly that he had only slight confidence in the developments of the war which he unleashed and which he was unable to curb, even though he wished to desperately…God and US saved Heaven Land Switzerland.
